Here's how I got the car in 2020. Lowering springs, leaking damn near every fluid, and a rats nest of speaker wiring.
And here's the car now
Around November 2020, I went to partsshopmax and picked up their pro coilover, rear upper control arms, and rear toe arms.
I then pulled the rear fenders quiet a bit to fit these 18x10+20 / 18x11+18 TE37SLs that I bought 6 months before buying the car
Stock brakes felt like shit so I went w the typical Z32 upgrade using PBM calipers and R1 Concepts rotors. ABS was deleted shortly after
Being a broke college kid working meant no real aero for me then, so I went with an eBay lip and fineline aero navan skirts. Definitely better than no aero.
Early 2021, clutch was slipping, so I swapped in a white bunny 6 puck sprung kit. Overkill for an NA KA, but I had dreams of boosting it down the line. Also got an apexi exhaust and garden pipe, catless header.
Waited like 6 months for a ShirtsTuckedIn bucket seat just for the cover to peel off the sides the first time sitting in it. FML
Thanks to my cousin for letting me borrow his tomei 2-way LSD, I went to WSIR Balcony for my first time drifting - I sucked. But I got the chance to meet Taka Aono
I wanted some 17s up front after shredding my wiring harness w the 18s, so I found a set of crusty 17x9.5+15 MB Battles. The ricer in me painted a pair green.
Oh yeah, I lost the eBay lip on the freeway. Car wasn't even low, just poorly mounted
P2M clear headlight lens to replace the crusty oem set.
Looked like ass, but kinda cool in this one pic at Grange
Cusco and Bride dropped a pretty cool zeta 4 so I had to get it to replace the STI seat
More ricer pics in my dorm lot, but with the villains' angle kit.
I realized the green battles were not a good look, so I rattle-canned them black and started focusing on wheel fitment
After sitting on a pair of Fineline Aero type 3 55mm fenders, I finally cut up my quarters. Kouki rep wing found its way to me and after selling it and buying it back twice, I decided to keep it
I think this was the end of 2021. Parts Shop Max released their Z33 brembos, so I got em to fill the wheel for those style points. I also got a pair of 17x10+18 RPF1 - idk why I bought em, I fuckin hate RPF1s.
Got a JPFiberAss navan bumper off a friend. Fitment was nice on the pass side, but would not line up for shit on the driver.
Battles were rattle-canned silver bc fuck black wheels.
I kept away from drifting for a bit. Too broke and was the idea of crashing/fucking up my car spooked me. I also just enjoyed dailying the car to school and everywhere else.
Good ol wingless look
My friends and I took over SDSU's Imports@SDSU page, renaming the group @AztecImports then renaming to @State.Garage. Pretty fun times to host meets and hang out w other car people my age
I wasn't the biggest fan of the type 3 fenders. Too aggressive and the pass rear arch was clocked so I had some tire rubbing issues. I ended up getting a pair of ChargeSpeed 50mm fenders, painting the "navan" bumper white, and chasing wheel fitment
Although I had just graduated from SDSU, the Imports@UCSD group let me join their annual Face Off - a car meet on campus to promote their club
Battles and TEs went to the back burner after getting a pair of advan RG3 18x9+25 and 18x10.5+15 RPF1s (idk why the fuck I bought another pair of RPF1)
DMAX Kouki tail lights to replace the ugly zenki tails. I found USRacing side skirts and rear bumper on offer up, so I had a friend paint em white and mounted em. Looked pretty good from this angle with the Advans/Volks
And back to the Douki wing
My cousin found a set of Gramlight 57Pros on Zilvia, so I bought em, ran them for a bit before selling em to him. Tire size was ass, but I changed em later
Sometime around January 2023 I picked up a fineline aero DMAX type 3 kit, which I later found authentic DMAX skirts and rear bumper to replace
Traded the crusty RPF1 for a pair of SSR Vienna Kreis and threw the Douki wing back on. I imported a pair of CST Hyper Zeros in 18x9.5+23 for cheap too
GAH DAMN, I got a final thrill banner
Bit of a wheel whore, changing wheels almost every time I drove the car (and removing the douki wing)
Car was starting to look how I wanted it to be - cool kit, cool wheels, and lowf
I'll continue this later...
